A.D. Styles and Kofi Kingston are no strangers to controversy.
In December of 2015, Styles was found to be in possession of two illegal substances, a marijuana and an amphetamine.
While Styles admitted to using the drugs during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he claimed they were his personal “side effects.”
It wasn’t until his second court appearance in February of this year that Styles admitted he’d been using cannabis.
While he was charged with possession of cannabis and possessing a controlled substance, Styles said that he only had to worry about his drug use because the substance had been removed from his body.
“I think the problem was when I started to use the drug I was like, ‘oh, I don’t need to worry, I’m not doing anything wrong, I didn’t do anything wrong,'” Styles said in February.
“But once I stopped, I got arrested and had to stay in jail for 30 days, and I’m like, I just need to calm down and I’ll be fine.”
In May of 2016, Styles and Kingston were both arrested for driving while intoxicated after allegedly failing field sobriety tests.
In July, Styles told WWE.com that he was prescribed Adderall to help him recover from his DUI arrest.
In October, Styles admitted on Twitter that he had used cannabis for two weeks.
“It’s not a new thing, it’s not something I’ve been doing,” he wrote.
“Just a matter of me getting over my pain and getting back to the business of wrestling.”
Styles also said that in his experience, “people who do drugs don’t think about the consequences.”
Styles is currently in his third stint in jail.
